Explain what you do

Hi my name is Jenny and I am the owner of Purple Holly which was founded over six years ago.

What did you do before Purple Holly?

I worked as a Human Resources Manager for an information technology firm, the NHS and a University.  I also had a stint as a recruitment consultant and I started my working life in the hotel industry.

What makes you excited to work at Purple Holly?

Our customers and providing a personalised customer service. We talk directly with our customers and we are always excited to launch a new product range that people love to buy for their home or as a gift for a loved one.

Favourite social media

Facebook because we can engage directly with our customers and we also run to some great competitions to keep things fresh.

Most famous person you’ve ever met

The Queen (Not really, but I’m hoping one day…)

Favourite thing about running your own business

Being my own boss.  Each day is different with a new challenge.

Puppies or kittens?

Kittens (or kittens covered in puppies)

Any hobbies?

I love to eat curry (or any food really). I’ve done a few runs for charity but I definitely didn’t come last…

Fun fact about you

I often talk or sing (badly) to myself and have a broad taste in music from Ed Sheeran to Abba.

Hello my name is Jenny and I grew up in a small sleepy town in Lincolnshire. I moved to London on leaving school and stumbled into a career in human resources. I loved meeting lots of interesting people and after a long career, I fancied the idea of being an entrepreneur. So I decided to set up my own business in 2012 and Purple Holly was born. I've always loved home interiors and Purple Holly sells just that, plus lots of stylish and quirky accessories for you and your home! We sell mainly online, although we do have a great little showroom in Bassingham in the heart of Lincolnshire, which you are welcome to visit anytime. We sell anything from a stylish gin glass to a gorgeous side table for your living room. I've been going for over six years now, and we've recently rebranded our website. I felt it high time to set up a new blog to promote our website, so here I am. Here's to hoping you enjoy our blog!
